Hawaii Five-0 star Scott Caan has revealed that he is pleased with the chemistry between his character Danno and Steve McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin).

"The writers have a tough job," he explained. "I always have the utmost respect for people who write series, because they've got to come up with new stuff all the time. Otherwise, it would just be a straight procedural, which this show is not."

He added: "So far [the relationship] is great. You've got to keep working on it [though]. You have to keep thinking of new and interesting things. We can't riff off the same stuff episode after episode."

Caan also confirmed that Danno and McGarrett's friendship is mirrored by his real-life relationship with co-star O'Loughlin. "[We] got on really well straight away," he said. "We just clicked. We're almost exactly the same age. I don't know if that's got anything to do with it." - Digital Spy
